Lake Tana is the largest lake in Ethiopia covering 3600 square kilometers; which is the source of the mighty Blue- Nile River. At the southern shore of the lake, the vibrant town of Bahirdar is situated 32km further, we find the roaring Blue-Nile falls; locally known as Tis Abay- “Nile that smokes.”
Black Headed Forest Oriole is one of the endemic birds of Ethiopia and abundantly found around Lake Tana.
